The May 2011 Joplin Tornado destroyed the offices (a former PLJBD project) of Dr.
Menke and Dr. McAllister. A design to relocate the practices was made and a new
7,165 SF dental office was designed to accommodate the way they practiced dentistry.
A spacious waiting room incorporates a lot of natural light and highlights a large
aquarium. The open design still allows patients privacy.
A large FEMA style safe room is included.
The 2-story building is an ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) structure that provides
outstanding wind resistance as well as extremely high energy efficiency.
