• This new 20,647 S.F. shelter and office facility was constructed in 2009 to replace the existing facilities of the Joplin Humane Society.

• The office facility is metal stud and wood truss construction and houses the administrative offices, entrance lobby, sales area, veterinarian service/clinic area, and large community meeting training area.

• The kennel and cage areas are masonry construction with wood trusses.  Cat and puppy adoption areas have glazed areas for observation from corridor area and adoption get acquainted rooms for interaction with the prospective adoption animals.  

• Support areas include cat and dog kitchens, laundry, garage with intake area, and exterior fenced central visitor plaza and exercise area.
